Bluegrass Jam

Enjoy great local bluegrass music every 2nd, 4th, and 5th Friday of the month at the American Legion Building on Route 230 in Stanardsville. The festivities start at 7 pm with a featured band for the first hour of music. The music continues into the night with an open mic and jam session until 10 or 10:30 pm. It’s only $2 to listen and free to play, so bring your love of music and an instrument or two if you’re so inclined.

Four County Players

Founded in 1973, Four County Players is Central Virginia's longest continuously-operating community theater. For more than 35 years, the players have delighted audiences with a full range of theater experiences. Located in the small village of Barboursville, the theater is the cultural hub for the community, serving as both an artistic and educational center. The Players are well known for their masterful musicals, hilarious comedies and magical productions of Shakespeare.

Independent & Documentary Film Series

Award winning, first run, independent and foreign films from the top festivals are shown on the 3rd Thursday evening of every month on a full movie screen and in surround sound at the Greene County Library. Funded by the Friends of Greene County Library, these films are all completely free to the public. Sip some coffee, watch a great film and join in a discussion afterwards. These films have not been rated by the MPAA and should be assumed to have mature content.

Lidda Bidda Mountain Spirit Dinner Show

Enjoy old-fashioned music and comedy for adults and children of all ages with a Grandma-style home-cooked meal at the rustic and private setting of Lydia Mountain Lodge and Log Cabins.
