GCEDA Press Release Stone Mountain Vineyards Wins Gold -- Again Dyke, VA, JULY 2007. For the second consecutive year, Stone Mountain Vineyards received a Gold The effects of 2006 growing conditions can be seen the crisp clean lines of the Gold
medal winner. The warm days and cool nights in Stone Mountain's high altitude
vineyards combined with the rocky soils of the mountainside vineyards result in a
Chardonnay with an expressive fruit forward nose and a clean memorable finish.
Fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks, rather than oak Thanks to rave reviews in other competitions as well as increased visitation Stone Mountain Vineyards is growing in reputation. Chris Breiner, Winemaker and Managing Partner of Stone Mountain Vineyards said, "I am very proud of the consistency of our winemaking across vintages. Working with Virginia pioneer, Gabriele Rausse, our goal is to grow wines that support Virginia as a leading wine region.
