SBDC and SCORE Offer Business Counseling Day May 23 at the EDA Office
Charlottesville, VA, May, 2007. The Central Virginia Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and SCORE® “Counselors to America’s Small Business” announced today that the organizations will jointly sponsor a Business Counseling Day in Stanardsville on Wednesday, May 23rd for business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs.
The event will feature one-on-one, confidential counseling at no charge and will take place in the offices of the Greene County Economic Development Authority at 96 Main Street, Suite B, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Business counselors with experience in cash flow management and business financing options, marketing strategies, human resource and operations management, business planning, purchasing and selling a business, franchising and contracting will be available.
All business owners and managers as well as aspiring entrepreneurs are invited to come by and speak with a counselor. Appointments are encouraged, but not required. For more information or for an appointment, contact Nora Gillespie at the SBDC at sbdc@cstone.net or 434-295-8198.
“We are pleased to have both the SBDC and SCORE assisting entrepreneurs in our area," said G. Willis Logan, the Chairman of the Board of the Greene County Economic Development Authority. "This is the second of such events within the past year and demonstrates the commitment that we have in providing resources to our existing businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs."
Both the SBDC and SCORE are resources partners and funded in part by the U.S. Small Business Administration and staffed with business consultants experienced in the ownership and management of a wide variety of businesses. The SBDC is hosted by the Thomas Jefferson Partnership for Economic Development and is funded in part by the Greene County Economic Development Authority.
The Central Virginia Small Business Development Center is funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the SBA. All of the programs and services are extended to the public on a non-discriminatory basis. Special arrangements for the handicapped will be made if requested in advance by contacting the SBDC.
