2nd Annual Greene County Discover VA Food & Wine Festival Returns Sep 1


Discover Virginia Food & Wine Festival September 2 Stanardsville, VA. The 2nd Annual Discover Virginia Food and Wine Festival will be held on Saturday September 1st from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm. This Greene County festival is a family-friendly event featuring the rich diversity of the Old Dominion's products. The festival will benefit The Greene Education Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping students and teachers reach their highest potential.

The Discover Virginia Food and Wine Festival celebrates not only the wineries of Virginia, but many of the other products that make our state unique and its crafters some of the finest in the country. Attendees may sample from the wide variety of food and wine exhibitors, relax on the lawn and listen to Dixie Power Trio or Adrian Duke Projek, walk through the Battle of Stanardsville encampment or explore the crafts and family activities.

Ticket prices at the gate will be $20.00 or for significant savings, purchase tickets in advance online at www.discovervirginia.net, at any Virginia Shop location, Belle Cuisine in Richmond, Opera House Gourmet in Manassas, Elmwood at Sparks Restaurant in Orange or by calling (800) 826-0534. Designated Driver tickets and under 21 tickets are also available.

The Discover Virginia Festival is being organized by the Greene County Economic Development Authority (GCEDA). GCEDA Chairman G. Willis Logan said, "Agriculture in Virginia produces some of the finest food and wines in the world. Greene County is pleased to be involved in an event that celebrates these great products in a fun and beautiful setting."

Held on Labor Day Saturday, the Discover Virginia Food and Wine Festival offers attendees a chance to get out and enjoy the beauty of Greene County, Virginia. Situated directly on Route 33, approximately 1.5 miles west of the intersection of US 29 and US 33 in Ruckersville, VA. The event is just a few minutes from Skyline Drive. The magnificent Blue Ridge Mountains provide an impressive background to the event.
